Terran languages are languages spoken on Earth that have been brought to the Big Blue by Terrans, and now constitute minority languages there. Due to the prevalence of Unstable Portals in those regions, these languages are primarily from Pacific, native South American and Southeast Asian cultures, including but not limited to Hawaiian, Māori, Malay and Indonesian, Balinese, Quechua, Nahuan languages or Mayan languages.
Some speakers of languages of Africa, such as Bantu languages (Swahili, Zulu, Xhosa etc), Yoruba, Kituba, Fulani and more, have been brought to the Blue due to portals in the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. In addition, due to their dominance, some influence from speakers of English, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Indo-Aryan languages such as Gujarati, and Sinitic languages such as Cantonese, are present as well.
Terrans with similar cultural backgrounds have a tendency to seek one another out, and keep their language alive by speaking it between themselves and to their children. However, no Terran languages have established speaker communities in the Blue, as Terran languages do not have enough speakers to be dominant or widespread, and so their influence is limited to the small ways in which they affect the many Languages of the Blue through loans and calques.
